Flagler Village is a booming neighborhood located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. The area is home to a number of art galleries, boutique shops, and trendy restaurants, and is also within walking distance of Las Olas Boulevard. History

Flagler Village, also known as Flagler Heights, was originally settled in the early 1900s and was home to a number of businesses, factories and warehouses. Up until the early 2000s, Flagler Village was at a standstill. However, Flagler Village has undergone a major transformation over the last 20 odd years. Artists reclaimed the area and started attracting attention to Flagler Village. Events

Home to a number of events throughout the year, including the Flagler Village Block Party Weekend at Peter Feldman Park, Flagler Village is known for its events. Many of the events are executed by the Flagler Village Civic AssociationAdditionally, the neighborhood is also home to the FATVillage™ ArtWalk, which is held on the first Saturday of every month. This event features a variety of local artisans, food trucks, and live entertainment. The M.A.S.S. District is also home to a number of events, including the monthly Mass District Sunset Street Market, which features a variety of local vendors selling arts, crafts, and food.

 

Parks and Outdoor Recreation

Flagler Village is still in development and there are plans for a number of smaller parks and playgrounds. Most locals enjoy weekends and afternoons at the Peter Feldman Park. This is a dog friendly neighborhood and park – so expect to see a few furry friends. In addition to the parks in Flagler Village, the neighborhood is also within close proximity to Hugh Taylor Birch State Park and Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Home to a number of boutique shops, art galleries, and restaurants, this neighborhood doesn’t disappoint. Some of the most popular restaurants in Flagler Village include Colada Cuban CafeBrew Urban Cafe, and Top Hat DeliFor shopping, you can either support local artisans and The Fresh Market, or head to Las Olas Boulevard, which is home to a number of high-end shops and boutiques. There is also the Galleria Mall closeby, which features over 100 stores and restaurants.

 

Getting around – Transportation

Flagler Village is located just minutes from Downtown Fort Lauderdale and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The neighborhood is also within walking distance of the Las Olas Riverwalk, which features 10 parks as well as a lush tropical waterfront, restaurants, shops and more. There is also a Broward County Transit bus stop located in Flagler Village, which provides service to various parts of Fort Lauderdale. You also have access to the Brightline Fort Lauderdale Station, which provides express service to Miami and West Palm Beach. The station also serves as a transportation hub to the Sun Trolley, and the Tri-Rail station.  This gives you access to all of the incredible destinations Fort Lauderdale has to offer.
