Boating in Fort Lauderdale
What makes Fort Lauderdale great for boating?
Fort Lauderdale is known as the “Yachting Capital of the World”. The area is home to thousands of yachts. With more than hundreds of miles of navigable inland waterways situated within a variety of neighborhoods, there are many places to go and alot of things to see by boat — including beautiful waterfront homes. For a bit more adventure, the gorgeous blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean can be only minutes away via the Intracoastal Waterway.
Ft. Lauderdale offers a plethora of waterfront condos, townhomes, and single family homes, a number of which include boat slips and dockage. Properties that have dockage may be deeded, assigned, or leased. Property locations include condos and townhomes, as well as single family located in areas without fixed bridges and with fixed bridges. Areas without fixed bridges are desirable for boat slips and docking larger vessels since bridge clearance height restrictions are not an issue in areas without fixed bridges.

Municipal vs. Public Golf Courses
Both municipal and public golf courses are open to the public. The main difference between the two has to do with ownership. Municipal golf courses are usually owned and/or managed by the city or county in which they reside. Public courses are generally privately owned.
